Is my Maxtor not easy drive repairable?

I own a Maxtor external hard drive, which sadly got dropped on the floor! Now, instead of automatically finding the concrete drive when you plug it in, zilch happens.

Is it broken (ie irreparable)? Or is within anything I can try to get it working again?

You may hold only diluted the external casing on it and the firm drive inside may be fine. Go out and buy one of these:

Then take the skin apart to get to your not easy drive and hook it up to this. It's worth wasting 25-35 bucks even if the drive is bad. Good Luck HTH.
you can probably replace the not easy drive that is within it..just nick apart and see if the HD is either PATA or SATA
Half the proficiency to be a techie is being ready to open things up and filch a look. You may have a disconnected lead, broken controller pcb or something easy to spot.

The intricate drive itself may be fine, but something in the external casing is where your problem probably lies.
