MIDI cable or USB Cable?

I hold a us-428 interface as my sound card which connected to my laptop through USB port 1.0 and I also bought a evolution MK-225C as midi controller. I am facing a huge buy and sell of latency between my midi controller and my software synth.reduced the latency by some configuration but it still exists. I m thinking maybe a direct MIDI cable nouns can reduce the latency.would you agree?

MIDI cable or USB Cable?

First a short time ago keep trying to take the latency lower.

10ms is about what I use.

Any lower and the nouns starts getting bad.

running straight through midi is gonna cash anything.

Midi cables transmit 8 Bits of information.

I'm pretty sure USB can handle that beside the same save more speed.

But if you can't get the latency to at least possible around 20

it's gonna be pretty lame.

I use a piece of crap Casio keyboard run through MIDI straight into my soundcard...

And I don't hold a laptop...

try lugging that and a monitor around to shows
