Linux is alien to me?

Yesterday a built a hot machine and put Ubuntu, Linux on it. Now I'm trying to check out my LG do everything drive; I'm trying to play a DVD and I cant quite go and get it?

Linux is alien to me?

The easiest way is to install Automatix2 contained by order to install the DVD encoders for Unbuntu. (the files are NOT available via Synaptic Package Manager)

Here's how to do that:

Or you can do it this path:

i've never used linux, but i know in lay down to play a DVD movie you have to enjoy DVD encoder software installed. Like Cyberlink PowerDVD
Kaffeine seems to be the evasion DVD player on most Linux OS. You may need to capture hold of a file call libcssdvd via Synaptic.

Look at the Ubuntu forums to see if someone else is having your problem and for a possible solution.
Gmplayer or Kmplayer (depending on whether you are using GNOME or KDE).should be more than sufficient...will play any audio or video format on land.
