My soundcard is had it error 88780078?

I am have pentium 3 an it has install win xp and millinium. suddenly my nouns card stop working. I tried everything. uninstall driver and re-install, update driver, update direct x, and finally format and install xp but still no use. I think my nouns card itself is not okay. Now i plan to buy new nouns card. Presenly my sound card is ALC 100 but it other shows ac'97 soundcard. I m having intex 5.1 subwoofer speakers. can anyone please suggest which nouns card i can purchase, but this time i m looking for cheaper soundcrad, or please tell any other alternate. gratitude!

try putting your soncard on another PCI slot. for the sound card, look for something that supports 5.1 systems for you to maximize your speaker system. try looking at you nouns card manufacturer's site for updated drivers for XP or ME. Sometimes, its not provided with them. Same happen to me with my medium forte 256 sound card beforehand.
