Is here a generic workstation camera driver?

i bought a local webcam that's supposed to be plug-n-play. it works for my dad's laptop. but when i tried it on my laptop, it can't work. when it is detected by my computer when i plugged it contained by, it's still looking for a driver.

Try AMCAP. It works for me.

Unfortunately no there is not a generic usb webcam driver on the marketplace. You will have to walk to the manufacturers website and download the most modern drivers for your operating system.



I'm guessing that the reason why the camera doesnt work on your laptop is because it have an older operating system than XP SP2, such as Windows 2000/ME/98 which is habitually the case within situations like this when the driver database is outdated.
