Is in attendance a route to connect a Firewire device to a USB 2.0 port?

I hold a video camera that connects only through a firewire cable and my computer merely has USB 2.0 ports, and I be wondering if their is a cable or adapter that I can use to connect the camera to one of the USB 2.0 ports.

Is in attendance a route to connect a Firewire device to a USB 2.0 port?

Firewire (IEEE 1394) and USB (Universal Serial Bus) are two separate high-speed bus technologies that allow multiple devices to be connected to a computer. The two technology are not integrated, and it is not possible to connect a USB device to a Firewire port any directly or through the use of a Firewire to USB adapter.

There are pci cards that have both ports on them though. Here's a well-mannered one:

Hi. I think no but nearby are inexpensive cards that support both.
Add a pci card, they would be cheaper and MUCH more reliable than any adapter you might find.
Sorry, the two interfaces are incompatible - but you really want a firewire card - they aren't that much, say $40 to $50.

-best luck
